Gypsy & Clarence

Two of the Sanctuaries Bengal Tigers enjoy play-time. Here are Gypsy And Clarence enjoying theirselves .
I'm not sure, but I believe this pic was taken by active forum member, gb3llma. If you know for sure that someone else took this pic, please email me and let me know as I would like to assure proper credit to the person who took the picture on the webcams.

Tundra and Loki

Tundra keeping an eye out...it's getting close to feeding time and it's almost like they can smell it before the owner gets out the door with it!

Getting Better!

Well the clean-up is STILL going on, but the owner says things are coming along. Soon we hope the sanctuary will be back to the paradise that it was before, or even better! Major clean-up has been going on since the Hurricane hit and alot has been done, but alot still remains. Dave still has to replace all the fencing around the sanctuary and the grounds and that is quite the task for one man to take on. If anyone can do it though, this person can. He is one of the most amazing people I have ever met, and I believe when God made him, he truly broke the mold! He lets nothing get him down or stand in his way, and he just keeps on rocking!

Most recent Update

Well things are moving along at the Tigerhomes Sanctuary and things are beginning to return to normal. Power is on, most of the cams are up and clean up is still going on. There were literally truckloads of debris that has had to be hauled off and still plenty remains. The owner works from early in the a.m until sundown out on and around the grounds daily, trying to get things back in to shape. He has been so positive thru this all and he never even considers giving up, even after the number of hurricanes he has been thru. I'm usually a pretty good judge of character and this is truly one of the most amazing persons I have ever met. He puts his whole heart and soul into everything he touches and always strives towards excellance and doesn't settle for anything less! Those animals there at the sanctuary mean everything to him and he always takes care of their needs above his own. Please take the time and go visit his site when you get a chance, you will not be disappointed. I have searched the web for many different animal web cams and his are by far the best! There is a forum that is open for discussion on many topics ranging from the sanctuary animals to protecting wildlife and their environment. Or if you just have something you want to say, there is a Rant & Rave thread for that also! They have several items available in their gift shop, and even adoption certificates available at a really decent and affordable price. I'll keep you posted on any major updates but in the meantime, you can go to www.tigerhomes.org

Getting There

Well it's been a long last few weeks for the owner of Tigerhomes, as he has been busting *** trying to slowly get things back to somewhat of a normal routine since Hurricane Wilma. The live animal cams are coming back on and seem to be working better than before! I spent alot of time today watching my favorites, Loki & Tundra, the sanctuaries White tigers. They will steal your heart away, that is for sure. At this point I would still like to say, if you haven't checked out the Tigerhomes website, you really don't know what you are missing. These guys have the best animal cams I have seen anywhere on the net....no waiting 60 seconds for a fresh image to load, or no hitting the refresh button everytime you want a fresh image! This site rocks! Hey, and if you love exotic animals? This is definitely the place for you, they have many animals. Not all are on live cams, but right now there are White Tigers, Siberian Tigers, African Lions, Golden tigers, and Black and White Lemurs, who by the way will definitely win you over! These are just afew of the many animals you can see. I would like to say also, that donations are still very much needed and definitely appreciated! These grounds suffered major tree damage and damage to several of the animal habitats, and will take major bucks to repair, rebuild, and replant! So please, go check the site out, see what it is all about for yourself, and then if you feel moved to do so, please send your donation to them today. Hey, you can even pay thru Pay-pal, which is a very secure way of donating on-line.
The cams are starting to come back on line, so I hope to have more pics soon, so check back often but in the mean time, you can check out the site yourself at www.tigerhomes.org

Request for Help

This is a copy of an email that I received that I would very much like to share with you. I do want to note that anything posted here, unless otherwise noted, is not officially endorsed by Tigerhomes but I did receive permission to repost the email. It is stated below:

The Tigerhomes.org Sanctuary Begins Recovery After Hurricane Wilma and Katrina

Wilma made landfall as a Category Three storm with winds of 125mph (200km/h). Wilma was the strongest hurricane to hit the Miami area since Andrew in 1992. Florida's residents have begun to clear up the devastation left by Hurricane Wilma as it swept across Florida killing at least six people.

Tigerhomes.org located in South Florida was directly in the path of Hurricane Wilma. Thanks to Dave’s incredible foresight and hurricane preparedness strategy all of the Sanctuary animals are safe and secure. Unfortunately the intense winds caused widespread damage to most of the Sanctuary grounds adding to the damage that Katrina already caused.

The Sanctuary sustained extensive damage to the entire grounds, perimeter security fencing, two animal habitats (Midnight the African Leopard Cub & the African Lion Habitat), and saw complete destruction to countless tropical trees and rare tropical fauna. Both storms (Wilma & Katrina) managed to completely destroy the Sanctuary’s once lush tropical canopy that provided needed shade for all the animals here. It may take many months to restore the Sanctuary to a level of quality for the animals that it once had but we cannot possibly do this without your support.

Already we are seeing an increase in member participation but we need a larger collective effort in order to continue with our recovery efforts and to drive ahead with our mission.

A simple donation of any kind can make a significant difference in helping us recover from the devastation felt here.

At this moment Dave is without power and working double shifts in order to clear away the debris, repair animal habitats, and restore overall Sanctuary operations. He is using one primary and two secondary generators in order to operate a limited amount of equipment such as the freezers that store food for the animals. He may not have any Internet connection back for a while.

Please continue to visit the forum for hurricane recovery updates and to show your support.

Hurricane Wilma

Below you will also find some pictures of just some of the major damage that was sustained to the Tigerhomes Sanctuary during the recent Hurricane Wilma. I've also included afew from surrounding areas also. The Tigerhomes Sanctuary is in great need of donations at this time and if you look at these pictures and then visit their website, I hope that you will possibly find it in your heart to send a donation to them. Years of hard backbreaking work have gone into this Sanctuary and it will take years to replace alot of the trees and landscaping that were lost. Major damage was sustained to many of the animal habitats and they will have to be rebuilt. This will take major funds and all donations are deeply appreciated by the owner. Please, after checking out the blog, drop by and visit the website at www.tigerhomes.org Thank you very much.

All pictures shown below were taken From Alex, the moderator and administrator of the Tigerhomes website. Please do not take any of these for any use without consulting these guys first. Thanks!
