White Tiger

I had to do another blog on one of my most favorite places in the whole world. The Tigerhomes Sanctuary, located in South Florida. They have their own website that you definitely need to check out. They have live webcams in some of the animal habitats and you can see close up and personal of some of your favorite animals.
Pictured here is one of the white tigers, I believe this is Loki, it's really hard to tell with the glare of the sun and the rain puddle. I personally would like to invite you to visit their website at www.tigerhomes.org and see what they are all about. This is not just another off the wall website. These guys are for real and are on a mission. They teach education about different types of animals and stress the importance of preserving wildlife so it will be here for future generations. This is a privately owned sanctuary and is not open to the public. They were really smacked by Hurricane Katrina when she first touched down in Florida afew weeks back. Many, many trees were blown down and ruined that even Hurricane Andrew couldn't touch afew years back! Major damage to afew habitats and major clean up was needed and still very much in progress. The dedicated owner did not waste any time getting the live webcams back up for his dedicated fans and supporters. I would like to say, this place runs on private donations from people like me and your and they are really in need of some help at this time. They do not get federal or state funding like alot of these other places do, but depend soley on donations from people like me and you. Please check out their website and consider becoming a monthly sponser or even a one time donation I'm sure will be greatly appreciated. They have a gift shop where you can purchase adoption cerificates for the animals and even have some awesome dvds available. My personal fave is called "Locked and Loaded". It's all about the big cats and you will get to be close up and personal inside the habitats with the owner and his assistant. You can actually see previews of the dvds available by clicking on the dvds of your choice. There are even afew animals in the dvd that aren't available for viewing currently on the cams. Once you see the previews, I am sure you will want to have one or all 3 of them. They very much stress the importance of education towards the younger generation as they will be the leaders of tomorrow. The website is full of educational material, photo gallery and even a forum for posting questions or just getting to know the other members and there is always something fun and interesting going on. Please vistit their website at www.tigerhomes.org and hopefully find it in your heart to send a donation or even consider becoming a monthly sponser. These guys all work more than one job just to make ends meet and that is mainly for the feeding and housing of the animals. Plus there is the outrageous expense of keeping the website and the cams up and running. They always put the animals needs above their own because they love what they do and are definitely on a mission!

King and Princess

Engaging in some love play, The sanctuay is also home to African Lion and Lioness, King and Princess! These two are gorgeous and you will love watching them on the cams. The Tigerhomes website has all kinds of educational pages, the web cams and also a photo gallery with tons of pics, and also a forum where you can meet and greet new people, and definitely make some new friends. There is always something fun and interesting going on here!

Tundra

You'll see me post alot on these guys, the two white tigers at the sanctuary are Loki and Tundra. They are my absolute favorite and they love posing for the cams!

Sampson

Another beauty, Sampson, the African Leopard also finds his home at the Tigerhomes Sanctuary.

Black and White Lemurs

The private Sanctuary also has afew Black and White lemurs and you can almost always catching them hopping about! These are the cutest and you will fall in love with them. The sanctuary also has another variety of lemurs that are currently not on the cams due to their habitat being damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Luckily, all the animals were unharmed and in their temporary lockdowns during the storm.

Golden Tigers

The sanctuary is also home to two Golden Tigers, Sherikon and Marcan. They just gorgeous and will steal your heart away! They can be seen on the live web cams!

Midnight

This is Baby Midnight, the sanctuary's Female leopard cub. She's not so much a baby anymore and is getting bigger everyday! Make sure you check her out at the Tigerhomes website at www.tigerhomes.org You will like what you see!
